A track cycling world champion and Olympic gold medalist in the team pursuit, Thomas has also enjoyed success on the road, winning the 2004 Junior Paris–Roubaix, the 2010 British National Road Race Championships, the 2011 and 2014 Bayern-Rundfahrt, the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 E3 Harelbeke. ==Early and personal life== Born in Birchgrove, Cardiff, Thomas attended Whitchurch High School.
